The last week of July, we headed to Durango, CO with the Foley and Isbell families.
They immediately went to the river that runs behind the cabin.
We went out to dinner in Durango the first night.
And then the girls played in the river.
We ended the night with smores by the camp fire.
Day 2 started with just me and Matt enjoying our coffee on the porch overlooking the mountains.
Madi was the next one up (surprise!) and had to put on her hoodie to stay warm.
We started Day 2 with a 7 mile hike.
We even drank water from the river and waterfalls thanks to Adam's special survival straw.
After 7 miles, we were so thankful to be in Silverton!
And of course we had to do some shopping to buy a Silverton, CO shirt.
Day 3: The Heiders were the first ones up again. Madi loved painting rocks on the porch.
Madi loved playing with Jacob.
We started Day 3 at the rec center in Durango.
The lazy river, rope swing and slide were a hit!
More shopping!
Day 4 was spent in Purgatory!
Bungee jumping . . .
Riding the artic slide . . .
Riding the mountain coaster . . .
And even ziplining!
Madi's turn to zip across Purgatory!
On our way home we stopped by Honeyville to see how bees make honey. They fly into this pipe on the side of the building. We even found the Queen Bee.
The last night, the girls showed us the path they made down to the river.
We spent our nights grilling steaks, playing games and just enjoying each other's company.
Until next time, Colorado!
