Nebraska Road Trip Part 1

 And we're off to Nebraska . . .
We timed it just right so we could stop in Amarillo for a fun tourist thing to do . . .
We didn't tell Madi where we were stopping . . .
So when she saw Cadillac Ranch and we handed her a can of spray paint and told her to have at it - she was a little puzzled!
But she quickly got the idea and now "Heider" is forever in Amarillo, TX.
 Plus an "M" for Madison!

And of course she wrote "LOVE" with a heart as the letter O.
On our way out, she just had to leave a monkey on the ground.
Then we ate at Tacos Garcia which is owned by my favorite restaurant growing up in Midland called Jorge's.
Of course, we asked to be seated outside by the fountain.
We made it to Dodge City Wednesday afternoon and had dinner in an old train car at Central Station.
We swam in their outdoor pool before getting some sleep.

This is what vacation looks like . . .
Then we headed on and stopped in Hays, Kansas to see where Matt was born.
We quickly found the Fort Hays State University campus to look around.
 The football stadium . . .
And the apartment/dorm Grandma and Grandpa Heider lived in when Matt was born.
They told us we'd know we had the right place when we could see a bridge just across the way . . .
They lived in two different apartment/dorms while there.
 E16
and E10.  It was neat to show Madi where her Daddy was born and grew up.
We found a neat place for lunch called Thirsty's in Hays before heading out again.

They had it neatly decorated complete with TVs in each stall of the bathroom.
Then we headed on to Nebraska to meet up with more family!

4th of July

Every year on the Sunday before the 4th of July, our church hosts a gathering at the corn maize to shoot off fireworks and have dessert.
Well we planned on making cookies decorated as the American flag but sadly due to the rain we had to cancel the event Sunday night.
So instead of putting them all in one large cake box we bought smaller boxes so we could make them for family and friends.
After delivering all the cookies, Madi and I went for a pedicure!

Monday night, Maisen spent the night with us.
So we met the Daniel family at the movies to see Cars 3 on Tuesday morning.

We went to the theater that was recently remodeled to have recliners for every person.

It was so comfy and nice!
Madi and hit up Old Navy and found some great sales for our trip coming up.  Can't pass up $8 rompers!
We started Wednesday morning out right . . .
Coffee in the hot tub early in the morning before heading out on our road trip to Nebraska!

Orphan Annie

Theater camp was a blast and Madi was excited when she got to bring home her theater shirt!
They worked from real scripts that they get to keep . . .

Before the show Friday night we met the Foley's (who are also in the show) for dinner at Albarran's!
 The program . . .

Love seeing her name as Chloe one of the orphans!

A few pictures from the play . . .

A short video clip . . . We recorded the whole thing of course too!

After the play was over we got to take pictures on stage with all the props!

Proud parents!
We love our orphan!
Grandma B and Grandma Mayberry came to watch our star too!

After the play we had a celebration for all the actresses at Cup of Yo!
I think Matt and I are gong to be theater parents before too long.  She seems to love this stuff!

 Loving all the slides . . .

 Gracie & Madi
 Inner-tube fun!

Back at Devyn's house for pizza, cookies and presents!
I was thankful Devyn's mom shared all the fun pictures of the party!
