Great Wolf Lodge

Matt and I came up with the brilliant idea to take Madi back to Great Wolf Lodge now that she's a little older.
We picked the week before her 9th birthday since she had Columbus Day off from school.
We brought Tucker along for the ride!
We headed to the airport bright and early for a 6:40am flight.
Tucker's never flown before so it was cute hearing Madi tell him all about security, the airport and getting on the plane.
They found our gate for us!

Getting excited!
 Oh, we were there too!

Of course, we had to let Tucker sit next to the window.
Ordering juice was pretty fun too.  They both read for most of the flight.
 Navigating the airport . . .
 We LOVE Dallas Love!
Riding the rental car bus to pick up our car!
They liked that our car was a small SUV.
Driving to the Ft. Worth Zoo!
But we made a pit stop for some donuts!
Ready to see some animals!
 Tuck was our tour guide.
He read the map and told us where to go next.
Elephants

 Giraffes
And the biggest fish we've ever seen!
 Random photo op!
 Flamingos
After seeing tigers, bears, lions, sharks and more we were hungry so we headed to Pappasito's for lunch out on their patio.
Oh, yeah we were there too.  :)
Then we drove to Great Wolf Lodge!
We checked in and they both got their wolf ears.  Madi got birthday ears too since we're here to celebrate her 9th birthday!
And off the water park we went!
 Wave pool
More slides than we can count.
 Lazy river
 And more!
I think this means they are having too much fun to stop and pose for a picture.
The one thing I love most about Great Wolf is that these wrist bands are our room keys and we can buy and order food with them.  So we literally walk down with nothing to go to the water park.
We got hungry so we took a little break . . .
And headed to a yummy dinner.
Oh yeah, wet and tired but we were there too. :)
They had a fun event where we went all over the lodge to trick or treat that night.
 They loved the paw print!
We rode more rides then hopped in the shower and got our pajamas on just in time for story hour.
These two are ready . . . wolf ears and all!
The story was a cute Halloween book and was a great way to wind down after a fun-filled day.
But we are crazy and jumped in the car (pajamas and all) after it was over and went on an ice cream run to Braum's!
 Up early ready for breakfast!
We have to keep up our strength for some more rides!
Stopped for another photo op on the way to the water park.
My view while they rode ride after ride after ride . . .
Then it was sadly time to take the rental car back and ride the bus (standing up!) to the airport.
 Getting ready to board . . .
 Eating Chick-fila on the plane . . .
And heading home for another week with an almost 9 year old!
I was supposed to travel straight from Dallas to St. Augustine, FL but due to the hurricane it was cancelled.  So I'm thankful for getting to spend this week with my family!

Madison's 9th Birthday Party!

We had Madi's 9th birthday party at Altitude the weekend before her birthday.

 Adyson & Madison

They all had a blast jumping and playing!
Singing to the birthday girl for the NINTH time!
 Make a wish!
Presents time!  Then they played for another hour.
 Daddy & the birthday girl
Momma & the birthday girl
Birthday party done!
More celebrating coming up soon!

Sunday School Party

Friday night, our church organized a 2nd and 3rd grade Sunday School party at Mr. Gatti's.
Madi and Maisen were so excited to see their church friends, eat pizza and play games.
Bumper cars were definitely a favorite!
It was a great time getting to know our church friends a little better!

School Pictures

Sunday afternoon, we did a little Halloween crafting.
Madi wanted to paint an orange cat for Grandma Mayberry as a Halloween decoration.
Monday
Madi's school pictures came in Monday afternoon.  She looks so grown up!
 Tuesday
 Wednesday
Madi showed me her art work displayed in the hallway on the way out of school Wednesday afternoon.
I love the side pony tail!
Wednesday evening we met at La Plaza, a new Mexican food place, to celebrate Morgan's 17th birthday.  Then we all went to Tripp's football game.
Thursday
Friday was field trip day up to Tech for Madi.
They watched a science demonstration on how professional stunts and explosions use science to make it work.  She said it was really neat!

The Compassion Experience

On Sunday, our Sunday School class met at The Compassion Experience that is in town.
We walked through on a tour to try and experience life in Guatemala. It was a humbling experience and will definitely be the source of conversations coming up.
Then our class enjoyed lunch together at Rosa's.
Sunday afternoon, I was served by a cute waitress while I did some homework and work.
She even made me a check to write for my payment.  :)
