Cat in the Hat & Mr. Gatti's

 Monday was a delayed start again but thankfully that gave us more time to get dressed up as a Dr. Seuss character. 

 

 She's been practicing her piece Friendship for the Wee Recital this weekend. 

 I signed her up for this art camp the first four days of summer with her friend Margaret.  They'll both love it and it will give us some time to teach our classes then pick them up and head to the pool! 

 Tuesday was my 36th birthday and boy was I spoiled.  It's hard to get a picture of your own hand when you're in a hurry but I wanted to remember that I got these beautiful stack rings that I've been looking at for a while now.

 Wednesday was quite rainy so we took a picture in the garage and of course I couldn't tell that her eyes were closed until now. 

 She loves to wear my boots!

 We already love to shop at Market St. but this makes it even better!

 I need to stop looking at ideas like this . . .

 I need to stop looking at animal sites as well.  I think she needs to join our home too!

 This past Sunday afternoon Madi and I did the great closet clean out!  I always want her to wear comfy clothes since they're easier to play in but she only likes skinny jeans and fitted leggings.  Well I finally got her to try on these yoga pants that we found in her dresser and what do you know?  She LOVES them! 

Thursday  - comfortable and ready for another delayed start of school!

 Friday was Field Trip Day to Mr. Gatti's!

 First they made pizza!

 Then a teacher read them a story about fractions.

 And they created a few different fractions on paper plates.

 Then they ate pizza and were off to play!

For some reason, this little girl can't lose a tooth when life is quiet and slow. 

Right in the middle of the field trip she tells me her tooth hurts so I take a napkin and pull it out!  

Guess I better go get ready for the Tooth Fairy to visit for the 6th time! 

Snow Day . . . More like Snow Weekend!

 We woke up Friday morning to this . . .

 Madi's district already had the day as a snow day on the calendar so when TTU canceled too we bundled up and headed outside to play!

 It was cold!

 But that didn't stop us from enjoying the snow!

 What else do you do but make snow ice cream when it snows this much!

 There's nothing better on a cold snowy day than curling up in your reading nook with a good book!

 We shared our recipe for snow ice cream with the cousins and got this picture in return.  They made it 3 or 4 times over the weekend I think!

 We gave Madi my old iPhone with an email address so she could text us and family while at home or on wifi.  The main reason is this summer when she's up at work with me and I'm teaching across the hall she can text me with a question or concern.  Also, she's been begging to be able to text people! 

This cracked me up!  She and Tripp were texting back and worth about going outside in the snow. 

 Her  response "just put on three jackets and a scarf two boots and a hat it worked for me" made me laugh. Then Tripp replied "to much."  So Madi thought he meant she was texting him too much!  :) 

We braved the streets in hopes of going to the grocery store but soon realized how bad they were so we went to lunch at Rosa's then home.

 This is how we spent Friday afternoon.  Madi got bundled up, went outside, came in and then started all over.

 Madi made a tray of healthy snacks to take with her to her reading nook.

 Saturday brought more time outside in the snow.

 We finally got to put Madi's sled from last, last Christmas (2013) to use on snow!

 We were wishing for hills but we made do.

 It gave both of us a good workout pulling her around and around.

 Madi was pretty disappointed about not getting to spend Friday with her cousins so we headed over to their house after meeting them for lunch on Saturday.  The big kids were pulling each other on an inner-tube with the golf cart. 

 Baths for us all then a yummy dinner at home!

 On the way home from lunch after church we really noticed all the beautiful ice crystals on the trees.

 We saw many people stopping and taking pictures of random trees. 

 Thankfully, the snow was finally perfect for making a snowman.

We are very thankful for a snowy 3 day weekend but we're all looking forward to school and work!
