Fun Weekend!

Every weekend if fun but this weekend was EXTRA fun!
Madi stayed after school with Maisen and played at her house.
We met all the Daniels for dinner at Rosas.
Madi had her first graded assignment on Friday.  She needed to know these sight words.  I asked her if it was hard and she said "No, it was easy. Everything is easy."  Hopefully, they'll start challenging her soon.

Saturday was a rainy morning so we made a big breakfast complete with biscuits by Madison then headed to our hair appointments with Mrs. Katie.  Here she is cracking Katie up by telling her our plans for Sunday:  Go to church, relax for an hour, then birthday party for 2 hours, then relax some more.
Thankfully, Matt comes and picks her up when she's done so I can relax during my appointment.
Guess it was cold because when I got home Madi had a jacket and leg warmers on.
We went through some of her games and puzzles that were too easy and did them one last time so we could give them to Maci and Tucker.

We also baked a bunch of chicken so we can chop and freeze it for soups this fall.
I'm really starting to like how much of a helper Madi is becoming.  A real helper!
Madi asked for her hair to be straight before we went to Aunt Shelle's house for Taco dinner! She looks so different with straight hair.
She made necklaces for herself, Maci and Maisen.
Our pastor symbolically burnt the note to our building and had our Foley friends up there as fire fighters during church this morning.  So many people gave above and beyond so it was paid off earlier than expected.
After church, we ate lunch real quick and then headed to Jenna's 7th birthday party.
Jenna has a nice pool that was heated to 91 degrees so they were in heaven!
We can't have noodles at our pool so Madi played with them the whole time.
They learned a hula dance for us and then performed by the pool.

 Jenna's mom went all out!
Jenna also takes piano lessons with Ms. Amy so we see her every Thursday too.
Matt mowed while we were at the party so Madi wanted to practice her cartwheels and handstands out front.
I took a couple of good "action" shots to show her!
 Such a fun, relaxing weekend!

Braids and More Braids!

Tuesday morning we tried a new braid.
I french braid across the top of her head and then put her hair in a side pony tail.  She likes it and it keeps her hair out of her face and off her neck on these hot days!
The first week of school I walked Madison to her classroom each day, but starting this week we're picking up Adyson and they're walking in together and then next week Madi will ride with them.
Wednesday was the double french braid I've been doing for a while now.
Not perfect, but I'm getting better and better.
Wednesday afternoon (before swim team practice) we got out a few of our fall decorations per Madi's request.  She found a turkey she had to play with too!
Stephanie and I provided pizza for our class Wednesday since we meet from 11:30am to 2:20pm.  We had tons left over so I brought one home for Madi.  This is what I found . . .
I guess she's like her momma and won't eat the crust! :)

We had a tomato off of Madi's plant for breakfast Thursday morning.
And I wanted to document it since it was such a good tasting tomato.
But of course, I got silly apple smile pictures. :)
 Thursday
I'm getting the idea she likes this braid.
Because she asked for it again Friday morning.  Probably because it's a combination of braid and pony tail which shes loves too.
  All ready for Friday!
Ady's mom sent this to me of them at lunch.  She took Adyson lunch and Ady chose Madi to sit with them and Janda bought them a treat.
It's so fun to see pictures pop up on my phone during the day so I can catch a glimpse of what she's up to!

Labor Day 2014!

We loaded up and headed to my parents' house for the Labor Day weekend.
Chicke was liking all the petting she got from Madi.
It was cracking us up how she talked to Chicke.  Sounded just like her Daddy!
Being at Grandma's house means a Root beer, an orange Fanta, and a Sprite in your hand!

Being at Grandma's house also means getting in the hot tub every chance you get.
Uncle Cody started his MBA at Tech so he got a little help from Matt on his accounting class.
Shelle and I went through old pictures on our phones while sitting outside watching the kids and Grandma swim.  We about died when we saw this one of Tucker.  She wanted me to send it to her again!  He's probably about 18 months or so.
We found a friend coke in Grandpa's fridge!
We had a great time visiting Grandpa and Grandma's church too.  Then we headed home so Matt could play in a golf tournament with our neighbor on Monday.

Madi and I shopped all morning then spent the afternoon playing and being lazy.
She's been practicing and practicing so she could learn how to braid.
Well I think the 20 or so braids in her doll's head are proof that she mastered the skill!
I'm impressed with how tight they all are!
We also scored this cute outfit at Wal-Mart for a whopping $1.
We also got one for Maisen so when we go to Dallas this month for Maisen's birthday celebration they can be twins!
For school, Madi has to put 5 things in a paper sack that tell her classmates about her.
She's already put a picture of her holding the fish she recently caught, a stuffed animal horse, the opal necklace Grandma and Grandpa Heider gave her and a favorite mermaid toy she loves to play with in the bathtub.
But she really wanted to put a tomato in the bag so she could tell her friends all about her tomato plants.  And she wanted to show them all the tomatoes!  Well we're not sure how long it'll take for her name to be drawn so we went with a picture of her tomatoes instead!
