Apple Orchard Field Trip!

Aunt Shelle's friend gave her some clothes for Maci, but she thought Madi could wear them first and then we can pass them back to Maci.
In the bag were "high heel" shoes just like mine!
Madi just had to wear them to church.
Before heading to church she said she wanted to wear them to school that week.  Of course, I said they weren't appropriate for school.  After wearing them to church and lunch, she said they hurt her feet and she wouldn't be wearing them to school.
Smart girl!
 Monday
We were told to put jeans and tennis shoes on for the field trip to the Apple Orchard.
Madison wasn't too happy about the jeans and tennis shoes but she went along with it.
They loaded up right at drop off time so all the mom's stayed in the parking lot and followed the bus out to the orchard.
Class picture (notice the orchard dog joining them!)
They brought out a bag full of lady bugs.
Madison just wanted to look at them, but her friend Maisen let them crawl all over her.
Next up, hayride through the orchard.
Sadly, due to the weather the orchard owners said they didn't have many apples on the trees so they had some shipped in for the kids.
Definitely not the experience we hoped for but it was fun just the same!
 Mommy & Madi
So thankful to be able to join in on all the fun field trips!
 Dance ~ Monday afternoon
Madi learned how to hula-hoop at a playdate at Maisen's house Sunday afternoon.
And she's been showing us her skills every chance she gets.

 Tuesday

 Wednesday
 Thursday
After school we headed to get a wedding shower gift for a friend at my work.  Madi wanted her picture taken in the "fun" chair.
Thursday night at Piano, Ms. Amy said Madison was able to pick her Christmas music for her recital.  How exciting!  She's already playing so well!

Friday
Two pictures with two happy smiles so I couldn't pick just one.

Calendar Party!

 Busy Week!
Monday morning
 Tuesday morning
Tuesday Evening at Matt's football game.
The Foley's and the Isbell's came to watch Matt coach.
It was a beautiful evening and the OL Slaton Knights WON!
 Wednesday morning
 Wednesday evening at swim team.
When Madison first tried out for the team she saw those diving platforms and said they were too high.
Well week two of swim team and she is diving off those platforms.  She's the very last one before the 3 long diving boards.
 Thursday morning
 Friday morning
Friday afternoon back at Tech with me after school.
Dr. Button ordered a HUGE year long calendar for our office wall.
Back in August she made the comment after the calendar taking so long to arrive that we should have a calendar party once it's here.

Well little ears were listening and started asking about the calendar party!
Dr. Button is so wonderful with children that she planned a calendar party for us.
We had sparkling grape juice and cupcakes.
Dr. Button invited Dr. Hammam, Ms. Toni, Ms. Elisabeth and Ms. Donna (Pictured below).
And they all came!  Mostly out of curiosity to see what a calendar party was all about. :)
 There was a ribbon cutting . . .
And then Madison and Margaret put all the months, days, etc. on our calendar so it's ready to use!
Madison, Dr. Button, & Margaret
As if the party wasn't enough fun, Dr. Button has a HUGE library of children's books that Stephanie and I take home for the girls all the time.  Well, they both fell in love with the Bink & Gollie books so they did a "book talk" too!

Overdue Cousin Time!

Last weekend we finally got the little cousins together.
Madi has been asking to see Tucker for a while now and Aunt Shelle said that Maci keeps saying "go to Madi's house?"
So last Saturday night Tuck and Maci stayed with us while Aunt Shelle and Uncle Cody played a few soccer games.  They love riding bikes together.
Maci was our doctor and I think we are all healed now!
Bathtime while watching cartoons!  Then we made cookies. YUM!
Last Sunday afternoon Madi was making balloons and streamers (for an imaginary party I guess?).
She just looked like a hot mess so I had to take a picture.  She loves those colored hair clips too!

Getting into our New Routine!

Monday
Dance started this Monday for Madi.
So we have dance right after school and then swimming later at 7pm.
 Tuesday
Thankfully, Tuesdays are free!  We can go watch Matt's football games starting next week.
 Wednesday
We arrived at swimming a little early Wednesday night so we sat in the bleachers and watched the other swimmers.
 Thursday
Madi had piano lessons then we picked up pizza so we could watch the Tech game at home.
Friday was picture day at school!
Beautiful sun on the way to breakfast at Cracker Barrel.
Saturday afternoon Madi went to her friend Maisen's birthday party at Dion's pizza.  They were going to see the movie 1Direction after pizza but Madi didn't want to go.  :)
Maisen's mom teachers Kindergarten next door to Madison and Maisen's classroom at school.
So they've become fast friends!
In the car last weekend, Madison wrote her name with all the letters attached and showed me.  I told her that was similar to cursive that she'd learn pretty soon!  :)
Madi and the Foley girls running after church last Sunday!
They love when we go eat lunch together after church.

Guess Who . . .

. . . Made the Lubbock Swim Club team?
We are all so excited!
Tryouts were Saturday morning and she did AWESOME!
They have to swim 25 yards freestyle without stopping then show they can do the backstroke and breaststroke.
They take very few five year olds we were told so we were surprised when the coach came up to us right after Madison's tryout to say she definitely made it!  He said he could tell that deep water didn't scare her which was good.
She starts Monday evening!

These girls play so well together!

Madi has been practicing her piano everyday so far.
Let's hope it continues!
