Mother's Day

We had a great Mother's Day weekend!

We repainted our bathroom cabinets (which may not seem like fun, but to us it was a blast!)

Then Matt and I went on a date to Carino's and to see The Lucky One.

I'm so thankful my husband loves to see chick flicks with me!

Then after church, Matt and Madi made my favorite meal of Meatballs and rice.

I've had the best Mother's Day ever!  

Golfing

Matt asked me and Madi to come along while he played golf yesterday afternoon.



I've never been before, other than to see him at the driving range, so I thought it would be fun!

Madi LOVED holding the flag, finding his golf ball, watching the wild jack rabbits, getting water, . . . . basically she was in heaven!

We ended our afternoon date with dinner at Chili's.

Doesn't get much better than that!



Dance Costume

Madison's annual dance recital is coming soon!

So, we had to try on the costume and make sure everything fit just right.

Other than saying it was a little itchy, I think she liked it!

I just need to tape her tap shoes white (fun times!) and we'll be all set.

Every Tuesday before dance, she asks "Do I dance on the stage today?"

She definitely likes to  perform!

Mixing Colors

Lately, Madi has been asking questions like "What do you get when you mix red and yellow?"

So this morning, we used water and food coloring and did our own little investigation.

 They weren't sure what colors would show up but by the end of our "experiment" they both knew their primary colors and how to mix colors.

I try to remember that I'm a stay at home for this very reason.  To stop and do fun experiments like this from time to time. 

Cubbies

This past Wednesday was the last night of Cubbies for the year.

They had an awards ceremony for all the kiddos.

Madison received a personalized award from her teachers, Ms. Renee & Ms. Diana, that said she does a great job knowing her verse and the scripture reference every week!

Of course, her Daddy said that meant that she was the smartest!

She also received a Cubbie pin for completing her entire verse book this year.  

She was a little upset that they didn't actually have Cubbie class that night so I know one little girl that will be anxious for Cubbies to start up in the fall again.

Beauty & the Beast

Last weekend, we went to Roswell to visit Matt's side of the family.

Aunt Erin invited us to see the play Beauty & the Beast since it's her (and now Madison's too) favorite Disney movie.

Here are the cousins running off some energy before the play.



Madi loves to pick dandelions. 



They were excited for it to start!   



We all enjoyed it so much.  As we were leaving, Madison told Aunt Erin to have a Cinderella play the next time we come visit! 

Of course, the rest of our visit was spent running around Grandma & Grandpa's backyard with Ethan, Owen and Henry!  They also worked a little in Grandpa's garden.



And rode the 4-wheeler whenever they got the chance!

We were also able to see cousin Ethan play a t-ball game. 

Those little players were adorable in their uniforms!

Ethan did great hitting the ball too.
