Name in Chalk

Madison wrote her name in chalk on our driveway.
It drives Matt crazy that her "D" is sideways. I tried to remind him that most kids write letters like that or upside down, real big, backwards, etc. But he's still concerned! :/

Then she wrote her last name . . . Heider!

Then she drew a dog. Not bad!

Here's her cat . . .

She said this was a flower.
If she has any creative bones in her body they are NOT from me. Guess she got 'em from her Daddy!

Then I challenged Matt to a game of Tic-Tac-Toe. Anyone that knows him at all knows that he is super competitive. I really think he planned on beating the pants off me.
But it was one-to-one for most of the games. Then he won another hand at the very end.
Don't worry . . . a rematch is on the way!

Madi liked to help out and draw our Tic-Tac-Toe boards for us. So sweet of her!

By the looks of it, our sidewalk is ready for summer!

Arts & Crafts

I had some paper grocery bags so we decided to have an Arts & Crafts Day!
Madison said she was making a life jacket.
It does sort of look like one OR she could just be really ready for summer!
Tucker's favorite part was decorating his "jacket" with stickers.
"Aunt Sherre, I want this blue sticker right here!"
I think Madi was proud of how her's turned out!
Then we did some Jelly Bean Graphing.
These are fun activities since it includes color sorting, counting, graphing, and of course EATING!
This activity was definitely a hit!

M-A-D-I-S-O-N

Guess who wrote her name? Yep, Madison did!

I was so surprised since we just started tracing letters a week ago. We were playing school and I looked over and she wrote a really good M. So I asked her to write each letter and she did. For some reason I didn't get a final picture with my camera, but did with my phone. Who knows?!? So, it's a little blurry. Needless to say, we were very proud of her! Here she is concentrating on her "school" work.

I think it's safe to say that Madi LOVES playing school.

She's also excited that she gets to go to Vacation Bible "SCHOOL" and a Dance Camp "SCHOOL" this summer. I think she just has visions of being like big cousin Tripp and going into school with his backpack on.
We'll see how she does when the time comes for her to go to school.

Park with Friends!

There's no better way to spend an afternoon . . .

Than at the park having a picnic lunch with friends! Well, catching a ladybug is also a good way to spend an afternoon. At least it was for our kids!

Decorating Cookies

We made bunny, jelly bean, lamb, and carrot shaped cookies to decorate this past weekend.

Shelle's going to love me for this picture! We made a bunch of icing and then used food coloring to make pink, purple, green, yellow and orange icing.

The kids had so much fun decorating their cookies.
Madi only eats the decorations and not the cookie or icing. Strange kid!
Tripp made a cute bunny!
He asked for a close-up of his cookie.
I was proud of my carrot cookie!
Then we watched some cartoons before heading home!
Think this will become a tradition too!

Lucky Charm Graphing

I saw this cute idea for graphing using the "charms" found in Lucky Charms for St. Patrick's Day. I showed them how to "graph" and away they went. Tucker liked graphing them but didn't want to eat them. Strange kiddo! I asked questions about which she had more of or none of, etc.

Or who had more . . . her or Tucker.
Overall, it was a fun activity with little clean up since Madi ate the "mess."

Second Cut

It was time for another hair cut. So, this time instead of going to Ashley's house we went to her salon since I was also getting a cut.

Madi wasn't too thrilled at first but then Ashley told me to leave and gave Madi a bottle of water and all was well with the world! Poor Ashley had to get on her knees to cut Madi's hair because Madi wasn't going to sit in that weird looking chair. We are so thankful to have patient Miss Ashley to cut our hair!
