Warm(ish) Weather!

Everytime it has been a little warm the past few days Madi has asked to have a popsicle. So of course I say yes but only if she eats it outside on the bench. She readily agrees. Anything for a popsicle!!!
On our way outside she starts doing something funny with her shirt. She's always loved taking her arms out so it really wasn't a surprise to me. But I snapped a few pictures anyways. These afternoon treats are going to be some of my best memories I can already tell.

What do brownies & flip flops have in common?

Well, they both kept us entertained on our recent snow day. It was in the 70s and beautiful (minus the wind) the day before then SNOW last Saturday! So we made brownies from scratch with icing! I love this picture because it looks like Madi is thinking "what is daddy doing?" But the funny thing is Matt does alot of the cooking. He used to do more before I started staying home. So Madi is used to her Daddy in the kitchen.

The aprons Madi and I are wearing were made by my Aunt Bev. She made us a set and my sister and Morgan a set. I think these are the ones she made for my sister but they were left at my house so Madi picked these out for us to wear.
Munching on chocolate chips . . . mmmm. . .
Quick pic of the baker and her understudy!

She definitely can't deny eating chocolate with that face!
Finished product . . . I think we'll have to tweak the recipe a bit but it wasn't bad for my first time making brownies with icing from scratch.

I've been shopping for Madi's flip flops already! I am SO ready for warm weather to get here. Here's what I've gotten so far . . .
Our annual Nike sandals . . . comfy and sporty!
Sparkly pool sandals . . .

A girl's gotta have polka dot flip flops . . .

So with the white ones my mom already got her all I need are some silver "everyday wear" ones. I bid on some on ebay so hopefully I'll win them since I can't seem to find any here in the stores that I like. And I think I've been to at least 10 stores already!!!

~Spring Break~

Spring Break started with dinner at Carino's and shoe shopping. Then on Saturday we headed to the lake (my parents' house). My dad and Matt golfed saturday afternoon while us girls played outside in the beautiful weather. Madison loves the sandbox that Grandma keeps for her.

She had sand EVERYWHERE but had so much fun that none of us cared much!
Then she wanted to go on a walk. As you can tell from the picture, the lake is DOWN this year again.

Stopped for a little ice cream treat on the gazebo. . . .

Then the walk continued . . . down the dock to see the water.

I love this picture of the two of them. They are inseparable!

Grandma found cute little white flip flops for Madi. I wasn't too sure about them since they didn't have a back but she did great. They definitely won't be her play shoes but will look cute with her spring dresses.

She was such a ham for the camera . . .

See my new shoes . . .
On Sunday, Matt and I left Madi with my parents and headed to Dallas for a little getaway. Here we are before eating at Pappadeaux. We ate SO much and it was SO good.

We watched a Stars Hockey game and sadly they lost but it was a good game. Matt scored a $25 Chili's giftcard during the game. Pretty sweet! We also got Madi two hockey sticks and pucks to play with. We'll see if she likes hockey as much as her Daddy does.

Monday morning we headed to IKEA. I've always been a fan of the store but never have actually been to one. It is HUGE and amazing. We got a new step for Madi's bathroom, some popsicle makers, a watering can for Madi this summer, a pillow for Matt and some cute dog hangers for my mom. Some pretty odd stuff but so cute and CHEAP!
We then headed back to the lake for a few days of rest and of course golf!
Grandma thought Madi needed this play jewelry set from the grocery store for some reason!

She looked like a cute little old lady with all of it on.

Love the nose scrunch . . .
My sis and her family came down on Wednesday before heading to Dallas to see MotoCross. Tucker immediately got a sucker from Grandma (imagine that!) and this is the result. I just had to get a picture of his sticky face with dog/cat hair all over it! Too funny!

All the kiddos eating lunch . . .

Tucker and Madi had so much fun playing in the sand and just walking around. We really miss the warm weather.

My parents have two golf carts to drive around their property that the kids LOVE to ride on. Crazy thing is - my mom lets the KIDS drive! Watch out!

We then headed home for a long weekend before Matt goes back to work. I have more pictures of the rest of spring break but they'll have to wait til later this week.
Gotta run - we're headed to see The Bounty Hunter.

Our Little Four Leaf Clover

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
(well next week anyways!)
I couldn't pass up this day though without showing some Madi pics in the St. Patrick's Day dress her Grandma (Matt's Mom) made for her.
I'm glad she'll be able to wear these dresses for more than one year. At least this year she gets to wear it to church a few times and to a luncheon with my mom on St. Patrick's Day. I know all the little old ladies are just going to love her in it!

Love those big brown eyes . . .

When we were putting on the dress she immediately went to the door since she remembers seeing the four leaf clover there everyday. Such a smarty!

Spring Break here we come!!!

Dentist & Up

Does anything look different to you about Madi?
Well, she just went to the dentist for her first teeth cleaning. We went a few months back for a consult, but today was her first cleaning and exam.
And she did GREAT! I was more than a little worried but the dental tech let her touch and see all the instruments first which really helped. She also said everything looked good. Thank goodness. Matt and I both have good teeth but my nephew has had a few cavities already so I wanted to make sure and get started early. We've been brushing twice a day for about a year now and just started flossing everyday too.
Madi was so proud of her new toothbrush and cover she got from the "deniss" Dr. "Titon" (Tipton).

We have a really cool dentist that gives tokens depending on what you get done and how well you behave that can be redeemed for toys after your visit. The waiting room even has movie theater chairs, a puppet theater, tvs, toys and Guitar Hero/Rockband for the older kiddos. It's crazy!

Here are Madison's chosen toys: a plastic slinky (not sure how that's going to work), a bracelet, and a hacky-sack ball.
See 'em???

Matt and I LOVE dvr-ing tv shows and movies but we haven't really introduced Madi to it yet. Sure she sees it on everyday but has never shown interest. She sees her cousin Tripp watch cartoons at his house and will even join him occasionally but she actually asked to watch cartoons at our house this past Sunday for the first time ever. I know it's silly but I was a little sad. She's growing up if she's already wanting to watch cartoons, right?
Well, Matt found Loony Toons (the only ones he'll let her watch!) and she looked at the tv for maybe one minute then continued playing! Guess she's not growing up too fast after all.
However, Matt has said multiple times that he can't wait til she'll curl up with him in his chair and watch a movie. So we got the movie Up from Netflix and last night (for about 10 min) was movie night for Madi & Daddy.
By the smiles on their faces, I'm not really sure who was enjoying it more!

Ok, we have nice weather now so off we go outside to play!
