More of Madison

On Sunday, we decided to go outside, play with the wagon/bikes, run thru the sprinkler and eat popsicles. It was such a relaxing, fun afternoon. I know Madi enjoyed it. She loves being in her wagon even if it's not moving.

Please forgive the undies shot - she absolutely LOVES Tripp's old undies over her new ones.

Matt had open house Tuesday night so after bathtime Madi and I walked around the block and had a little photo session. It was a little too dark but the pictures turned out ok. I love her hair in pigtails. I'm never sure how all those curls fit in a pony tail holder but they do!

This morning Madison was only out back for maybe two minutes and this is the mess she managed to make . . . . I was amazed!

Growing up over night!

Things have definitely changed in our household . . . almost overnight! I decided Monday was a good day to "really" start potty training Madison. She took right to it and has only 1-3 accidents a day. Not too bad for our first week. Here she is sporting her new underwear. Of course, she doesn't like the cute pink/flowery ones we bought her. She'd rather wear her cousin Tripp's hand-me-down ones because they have puppies and cars on them. Go figure!

I think she's just as proud of herself as we are of her! I think her daddy's motivation is more financial though . . . no more diapers!

Tripp and Tucker have been staying with us during the day this week since my sis went back to work on Wednesday. We've been going swimming, to the park, to the mall and of course to McDonalds. Three kids ages 6, 21 months and 8 months WEAR ME OUT!

The boys love looking at Madi and making her laugh! When they're around she's entertained all day long.

So if potty training wasn't enough for us - Madi decided Wednesday when I put her down for nap to climb out of her crib. She has NEVER even attempted to do this before. She's just like her momma and loves her sleep so she rarely fusses when we put her down. Well that day she kept saying "play" since Tripp was there and did not want to sleep. She almost beat me back into the living room. I was so shocked! So when Matt got home that night we took apart her crib and turned it into a toddler bed.

She did fantastic the first night. I don't think she even knew she could get out of it once we put her to bed. The second night was a different story. She fell out of it around 1 and it took us til 3 to get her to stay in her bed. I think she was mostly scared. That next day we went and bought a safety rail and she's been sleeping great ever since. She doesn't get up once. Have I said lately how much I love my child?!?

Then here she is before bed that night all pajama-ed up and ready to go to sleep! I think she likes her big girl bed.

A friend of ours from the pool just loves Madi and sent her these cute little baby dolls in the mail. Madi loved getting to carry the package from the mailbox inside and open it. She was so surprised to see babies in there. Too sweet!

Not sure if we're ready for our little girl to grow up but she's showing us "ready or not . . . here it is!"

Busy, busy little girl!

My friend Shari Henson (a child photographer - sharihensonphoto.com) came by to visit and help me learn my camera better. So we had a little mini-photo shoot as well. She is amazing with children so if you are wanting family/children pictures taken check her out. Below are the results - of course the really good ones were taken by her but I did a few as well. Maybe you'll be seeing some improvement in my picture taking ability in the next few posts!

I think I'm going to print/frame these first two and put up in our house. Matt already said he wants them for his desk at school too!

I've been meaning to take pictures of Madison and her favorite food this summer - strawbies! She eats them with EVERY meal and even requests them over cookies or chips. It's crazy! Hopefully it will stay this way and not be just a phase.

We always try to pray before meals but now we have Madi to help remind us. The second we start putting food on the table she starts saying "pray, pray, pray . . ." It's so sweet. She folds her hands and will say "thank you Jesus . . . . . " and then a big "amen" at the end. We're working on the middle part!

Madi had a water play date on Tuesday afternoon with Madeline and Nora. They drank lemonade, ate cookies and played in the water. Madi is not such a big fan of the water but she loves being outdoors!

Matt got these pictures while I was taking a shower I think. She waits until I'm busy then goes and gets my clothes/shoes/whatever else she can find to put on!

Like mother, like daughter! I love powdered sugar donuts and from the picture below it's obvious that Madison does as well.

Our Sweet Little Girl!

I decided to title this post "Our Sweet Little Girl" after realizing that almost all the pictures are of her. That's usually the case, but this time I really noticed it.

I painted Madi's toes the other day for the first time. The only reason she let me do it was because I also painted our friend's daughter Kennedy's toes too. Madi saw me painting her toes and wanted it done too.

Here is the flip-flop dress that Matt's mom made for Madison. This was taken in a hurry on our way out the door to church last week. I can never remember to take one after church because Madi is usually halfway undressed by the time we get in the door. I love this dress because it reminds me how Madi calls her shoes "flop-flops."

Matt was gone somewhere one afternoon and I guess Madi was missing him because all she wanted to do was wear his sunglasses and visor.

Then she added one of my belts and a pair of my shoes. She definitely has a style all her own!

We went to the lake this past weekend to house-sit so that my parents could go visit my very sick uncle in Longview. Here's Madi relaxing with her Grandma and about 20 cats and dogs the night before they left!

My favorite picture of our relaxing weekend before Matt starts back to work. She walked her Daddy all over the place this weekend. She says, "Daddy c'mon!" And of course he does.
